Select your arrival and departure dates, as well as the number of guests that will be staying in the apartment. Then click on "Search". On the following page, you shall be shown a list of all available apartments. All apartments displayed on the page can be rented on your requested dates.
Fill in your travel dates, select an apartment from the availability list, and click on "View details". On the following page, you will be able to see the apartment details and the total cost of the stay. This price is the total cost of the stay, based on the number of guests entered, seasonal price adjustments, discounts, local taxes, agency fees, water, gas, electricity and the cleaning fee. However, for monthly rentals the price of Internet, gas, water, and electricity bills is not included. Click on "Book now" and continue to the reservation page. On the reservation page, you must fill in the form with your personal information. In order to complete the reservation you are required to make a prepayment. Alternatively, for some reservations you may also be shown the option to pay the whole rental amount up front. When selecting this option, please be aware that you will still be required to pay the tourist tax and damage deposit upon arrival.
Our apartments are cleaned after each guest departs, ready for the next guest. If you wish to receive extra cleaning services during your stay for a small fee, you must arrange this with the owner of the apartment or contact AB Apartment Barcelona. Guests are expected to leave the apartment in a reasonable state of cleanliness upon departure, with the exception of dirtiness caused by normal and acceptable use of the accommodation.
Once you have paid the prepayment amount to make your reservation of the apartment, we will email you the details of the apartment owner or representative.
Utility charges for monthly rentals are not included in the total cost of the rental. If you are staying in the apartment for more than 31 nights, then you will be required to pay the bills for electricity, water, gas and Internet on a monthly basis. AB Apartment Barcelona does not accept any PayPal charges nor any other transfer charges for monthly payments or deposit refunds. In case of cancellation, no refund will be made on the agency fee or the first month’s rental amount. Cancellations must be made in writing. For more information, see our monthly rental conditions.
Each apartment has different rules regarding deposits. If an apartment requires a deposit this will be marked in the apartment details and on the reservation page. This amount is to be paid to the owner/representative at check-in.
The damage deposit will be returned by the owner/representative after assuring that the accommodation is in the same condition as when the client entered. For all rentals of 31 days/30 nights or less, the damage deposit will be returned between 4 and 7 days after departure. For all rentals of more than 31 days/30 nights, the damage deposit will be returned by bank transfer or PayPal up to 30 days after leaving the apartment, once the apartment has been inspected and any outstanding Internet and utility charges (gas, water, and electricity) and/or charges for damage to the apartment have been deducted.

Please note: WHEN THE RESERVATION IS UNDER 7 DAYS deposits for some apartments may be paid by pre-authorization on a credit or debit card. The amount is blocked on the card for 7 days, after which time it will be automatically unblocked, provided the apartment has been left in an acceptable condition. Please see your confirmation email to find out if you are required to pay by pre-authorization.
For reservations of up to 11 months, all of our apartments are fully equipped with a kitchen, shower, toilet, towels and bed linen. Extra equipment such as TV, stereo, Internet and cable TV vary depending on the apartment. This information can be found in the detailed apartment description available for every apartment.
Once you have entered your personal information and your payment details, we will verify the information provided and charge the prepayment amount to your credit or debit card. Once the prepayment has been charged, we will send you the complete reservation confirmation via email which includes details of the apartment owner/representative, as well as the exact location of the apartment.
Once you have received your reservation confirmation, you must contact the owner/representative at least three days prior to your arrival to arrange a check-in time. You will receive the keys to the apartment at check-in.
To cancel your reservation you must contact AB Apartment Barcelona. We will notify the apartment owner of your cancellation.

You can leave your luggage in more than 80 secure points in Barcelona before check-in or after check-out from €1 an hour or €5 each day, according to what you need.

The Tourist Tax was created by the Government of Catalonia on the 1st of November 2012. It is not included in the final price of the reservation and guests must pay it to the apartment owner or elected representative upon arrival. It is then transferred to the Generalitat de Catalunya. The charge is €2.48 per person per night, for a maximum of 7 days. Those under 16 years of age are exempt from paying.

If you break something in the apartment, don’t worry. Just contact the owner/representative of the apartment so that they can go about repairing or replacing the item. They will decide if any extra charge will be incurred for the damage.

You may pay your prepayment either in Euro, US Dollars or British Pound Sterling, however, when paying the remainder of the balance in cash, payments must be made in Euro.
Yes. AB Apartment Barcelona operates a third-party payment system whereby your credit/debit card details are processed by an external banking server. We also have payment security with Thawte, specialists in payment protection.

Online payment security: AB Apartment Barcelona is committed to protecting users' data to the maximum and does not have access to or can not see at any time the credit card number that you enter into the form, this information is encrypted and will only be visible to the bank.
Sometimes it can take up to 7 days for the balance of your damage deposit to become unblocked when the amount is taken by pre-authorization. If the money is not unblocked after 7 days, please contact your bank as there may be an internal problem.
For SOME RESERVATIONS ONLY you may be required to complete the check-in process at the AB Apartment Barcelona office (please see the Check-in and Check-out page for more information). AB Apartment Barcelona may have many new arrivals in the same day, some at the same time. Since we have hundreds of apartments all over the city, it is not possible to complete check-in at each individual property. However, our office is centrally located and is very easy to reach by public transport or car. Check-in at an office is common practice for most agencies in Barcelona.
All apartments are cleaned and checked before entering but we advise clients that if they do have any minor issues or find anything missing it should be reported to the apartment representative on arrival at the apartment.

Security measures in the apartment

To prevent any incidents, it’s important that you make sure to properly close the apartment door with a double lock, both on your way in, and on your way out. For those using digital keys, make sure that the apartment has been properly shut. When you leave the apartment, make sure that all the windows and other points of access from the outside are properly closed. If you have a safe inside the apartment, we recommend using it to store your valuables.

All apartments have home insurance that covers the existing content the property comes with, but it does not cover the tenant's personal belongings. It is recommended that the tenant take out home insurance that covers their personal belongings. In case of damage or theft, the property owner is not responsible in any case.

If you want to take out a home insurance policy during your stay, do not hesitate to contact us in advance and we will advise you on the best one available.

Is Barcelona a safe city?

In the tourist areas of the city, as in many other large European cities, there are pickpockets. We always recommend taking basic precautions, like always keeping an eye on your belongings, and being aware of the location of your valuables (for example, not putting your wallet or mobile phone in your back pocket) so that any incidents can be avoided.

What should I do if I have been robbed during my stay in Barcelona?

You should make contact with us immediately and then go to the nearest police station to report the crime. AB Apartment Barcelona is not responsible for any damages or belongings stolen, but we will help you through the process of reporting the incident. Reporting the theft will allow you to:

- Fly or travel even if you have had your documents of identity stolen.
- Be able to be contacted and claim your belongings in case they are found.
Electricity supply is 220 volts throughout Spain with 2 pin wall sockets. If you would like to use an appliance that was not made to fit these specifications (i.e. if you are travelling from the UK or USA) then you must bring an adaptor.
In some apartments a basic clean is done every 4 days. This includes: Sweeping all floor surfaces, cleaning the toilet, shower and sink, and removing the rubbish. This does not include a change of sheets or towels, washing the dishes, or a general tidy up of the guest's belongings.
