Fill in your travel dates and select an apartment from the availability list. On the following page, you will be able to see the apartment details and the total cost of the stay. This price is the total cost of the stay, based on the number of guests entered, seasonal price adjustments, discounts, local taxes, agency fees, water, gas, electricity and the cleaning fee. However, for monthly rentals the price of Internet, gas, water, electricity bills and the agency fee (if applicable) is not included. Click on "Book now" and continue to the reservation page. On the reservation page, you must fill in the form with your personal information. In order to complete the reservation you are required to make a prepayment. Alternatively, for some reservations you may also be shown the option to pay the whole rental amount up front. When selecting this option, please be aware that you will still be required to pay the tourist tax and damage deposit upon arrival if applicable.

Yes, the cleaning is included in the total price. The clean will be done after each check out to prepare for the next guests' stay. You can request an extra cleaning service by accessing your customer area, or by contacting the apartment host directly. Guests are expected to leave the apartment in a reasonable state of cleanliness upon departure, with the exception of dirtiness caused by normal and acceptable use of the accommodation.
Once you have paid the prepayment amount to make your reservation of the apartment, we will email you the details of the apartment owner or representative.
Utility bills for monthly rentals are not included in the rental price. If your stay is longer than 31 nights, the utility bills are charged according to the number of bedrooms in the apartment. AB Apartment Barcelona does not accept any charges incurred from payment via PayPal or bank transfer nor do we accept the charges for refunding safety deposits via bank transfer. Each apartment has different rules regarding deposits. If an apartment requires a deposit this will be marked in the apartment details and on the reservation page. This amount is to be paid to the owner/representative at check-in before arriving at the apartment, when you collect the keys.
Sometimes a deposit must be paid according to the conditions of each apartment. This deposit will be returned by the owner/representative after assuring that the accommodation is in the same condition as when the client entered. For all rentals of 32 days/31 nights and under, the damage deposit will be returned up to 14 days after departure. For all rentals of more than 32 days/31 nights, the deposit will be refunded within 31 days following departure, provided that the apartment is in a good state and without any damage. In the case it is not, the refund period for the deposit will be subject to conditions of a review of the apartment and the deduction of costs needed for supplies and damage.

Note: ONLY FOR CERTAIN RESERVATIONS, the deposit may be charged by pre-authorisation on a credit or debit card. The amount is blocked on the card for 7 days, after which time it will be automatically unblocked, provided the apartment has been left in an acceptable condition. Please see your confirmation email to find out if you are required to pay by pre-authorisation. Bear in mind that AB Apartment Barcelona does not accept charges incurred by refunds of deposits made by bank transfers or PayPal, whether it is for a long or short stay.

Please note that for stays of 32 days/31 nights and under, all charges for utilities are included in the rental fee, provided that the fee does not exceed the limits of normal and proper use. If a misuse of the utilities is detected leading to a charge which is above average, the client must pay the utility bill.
For reservations of up to 11 months, all of our apartments are fully equipped with a kitchen, shower, toilet, towels and bed linen. Extra equipment such as TV, stereo, Internet and cable TV vary depending on the apartment. This information can be found in the detailed apartment description available for every apartment.
In order to access our apartments with a GI reference, it is compulsory to do check-in online before arriving in Barcelona. Once you have made a booking with AB Apartment Barcelona, if necessary, you will receive instructions about how to check-in online.

In order to complete your check-in online, you will have to send in the personal information of all guests that are going to stay in the apartment. If the apartment with a digital key, you will receive the keys to the apartment on your phone. If the apartment opens by traditional keys, when you arrive at the AB Apartment Barcelona office, we will just verify the information of the guests and hand over the keys to you. It is that easy, save yourself queuing up and waiting!

The customer area is an exclusive service, offered to all our guests. Once you have made a booking, you will be sent the login details including a password that you can then change by entering your profile and accessing “My Account”. You can access the customer area via your confirmation email or from our website, you don´t need to download an App.

Some things that can be done in the customer area are: the check-in online, cancel a booking, report any issue in your apartment and attach any necessary photos or documents. You can also access our additional services, experiences and discounts, useful information and much more. Take advantage of everything we have to offer, all from the same place.
Once you have entered your personal information and paid the indicated prepayment, we will send you the full information of your reservation, that includes the details of the property owner or contact person, as well as the exact location of the apartment. In GI referenced apartments, we will show you how to do online check-in.
In your confirmation email, you will have all the information needed on how to collect your keys. Depending on your reservation, you will be able to check-in directly to the apartment with mobile keys on your smartphone, or you will have to come to our head office to collect your keys.

For reservations with CR reference, once you have received your booking confirmation, you should contact the property owner/contact person for the apartment and arrange a time to collect the keys. You must contact the property owner/contact person at least 3 days before arriving at the apartment.
To cancel a reservation, you must do so through your customer area. Please, read our Cancellation policy for more information.
In case of cancellation, depending on the duration of the stay and the reserved apartment, the booking amount will be refunded. Restrictions are applied. Please, read our Cancellation policy for more information.
You can leave your luggage in more than 80 secure points in Barcelona before check-in or after check-out from €5 each day.

The Tourist Tax was created by the Government of Catalonia on the 1st of November 2012. The tax is transferred to the Generalitat de Catalunya; it is not included in the final price of the reservation and guests must pay it to the apartment owner or elected representative upon check-in. The charge is €4.40 per person per night, for a maximum of 7 days. Those under 17 years of age are exempt from paying. More information.

If you break something in the apartment, get in touch with the property owner or property representative so that you they can decide whether to repair or replace it. They will decide if the damage incurs an additional cost.
If you need any help or information, please contact the owner/representative of the apartment and they will be happy to assist you. You also will be able to use a free medical service in the apartment if you need: if you have a medical emergency, you can call 0034 901 123 456, available 24/7. A multilingual team from the Quironsalud group will manage any medical attention at your address without any cost. In the case that you need to be transferred to hospital, you will need to use private medical insurance or travel insurance that can cover these costs.

If you have left anything in the apartment, you should contact our team via email to and we will try to locate it as soon as possible. However, please bear in mind that AB Apartment Barcelona will not be held responsible for any missing items under any circumstances.

Custody of lost property: if a member of our staff finds an item left behind by a guest, the guest will be contacted immediately. The item will be stored by us for a maximum of 1 month. If after this period of time it has not been claimed, it will be disposed of. If we are required to send the item, bear in mind that shipping and/or management costs will be incurred.

Items which contain sensitive information: if any item which contains sensitive information is left behind in an apartment, the owner will be contacted. However, if the item is not claimed in the specified time period; it will be sent to the nearest police station. These items include bank cards, passports and ID cards.

You may pay your prepayment either in Euro, US Dollars or British Pound Sterling. However, if your reservation allows you to pay the rest of the renting amount in cash, this must be done in Euros.
Yes. AB Apartment Barcelona operates a third-party payment system whereby your credit card details are processed by an external banking server. We also have payment security with Thawte, specialists in payment protection.

Online payment security: AB Apartment Barcelona is committed to protecting users' data to the maximum and does not have access to or cannot see at any time the credit card number that you make the booking payment with; this information is encrypted and will only be visible to the bank.
Sometimes it can take up to 7 days for the balance of your damage deposit to become unblocked when the amount is taken by pre-authorization. If the money is not unblocked after 7 days, please contact your bank as there may be an internal problem.
For SOME RESERVATIONS ONLY you may be required to come to the AB Apartment Barcelona head office to collect your apartment keys (please see the Check-in and Check-out page for more information). AB Apartment Barcelona may have many new arrivals in the same day, some at the same time. Since we have hundreds of apartments all over the city, it is not possible to complete check-in at each individual property. However, our head office is centrally located and is very easy to reach by public transport or car. Check-in at an office is common practice for most agencies in Barcelona.
All apartments are cleaned and checked before entering but we advise clients that if they do have any minor issues or find anything missing it should be reported to the apartment representative on arrival at the apartment.

Security measures in the apartment

To prevent any incidents, it’s important that you make sure to properly close the apartment door with a double lock, both on your way in, and on your way out. For those using digital keys, make sure that the apartment has been properly shut. When you leave the apartment, make sure that all the windows and other points of access from the outside are properly closed. If you have a safe inside the apartment, we recommend using it to store your valuables.

All apartments have home insurance that covers the existing content the property comes with, but it does not cover the tenant's personal belongings. It is recommended that the tenant take out home insurance that covers their personal belongings. In case of damage or theft, the property owner is not responsible in any case.

If you want to take out a home insurance policy during your stay, do not hesitate to contact us in advance and we will advise you on the best one available.

Is Barcelona a safe city?

In the tourist areas of the city, as in many other large European cities, there are pickpockets. We always recommend taking basic precautions, like always keeping an eye on your belongings, and being aware of the location of your valuables (for example, not putting your wallet or mobile phone in your back pocket) so that any incidents can be avoided.

What should I do if I have been robbed during my stay in Barcelona?

You should make contact with us immediately and then go to the nearest police station to report the crime. AB Apartment Barcelona is not responsible for any damages or belongings stolen, but we will help you through the process of reporting the incident. Reporting the theft will allow you to:

- Fly or travel even if you have had your documents of identity stolen.
- Be able to be contacted and claim your belongings in case they are found.
Electricity supply is 220 volts throughout Spain with 2 pin wall sockets. If you would like to use an appliance that was not made to fit these specifications (i.e. if you are travelling from the UK or USA) then you must bring an adaptor.
